About Me
Alyshia Alohalani Macaysa-Feracota
(she/her/hers)
Alyshia Alohalani Macaysa-Feracota is a Kanaka Maoli Filipina health equity strategist and community organizer. She was born in Hilo, Hawai’i; raised in Southeast San Diego, California; politicized in the Bay Area; and is now organizing systems-change work in Portland, Oregon.
The heart of her work is integrating a decolonized public health practice into community-led racial equity initiatives. This journey has led her to work across the community development, public health, and technology sectors. In 2019 she was selected by the City of Portland to serve as an Equity Consulting Advisor for their Smart City PDX Initiative, and began her service as a Board Member for Multnomah County’s Public Health Advisory Board. That same year Alyshia became a nationally recognized Culture of Health Leader through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
She is also a proud founding member of the Oregon Pacific Islander Coalition, the BIPOC Decolonizing Data and Research Council, and Suma - a digital justice non-profit. When Alyshia is not working she enjoys swimming, listening to music hella loud, and talking story with her family.
